The views of SEO Philippines is to highlight the Philippines as an SEO hub in Asia. To show the world, the Philippines has what it takes to be good in SEO and possibly be a very good outsource resource for SEO. Good coders, good english writers, and good knowledge of SEO. And I believe Marc Macalua has represented the Philippines well in the previous SES China trying yo push the same message. Part of SEO Philippines goals was to put the Philippines on the map as a recognized country when you say SEO. And as I have previously blogged about the SEO Contest dubbed Isulong SEOPh, started last June 1, it filled the SERPs so quickly to more than 200,000 webpages indexed which surprises me how many pages got out so quickly for a search term that gave zero results on day 1.
And just like what SEO Philippines wanted, worldwide attention, But… errr… I do not know if the group got the right attention wanted. Jim Westergren of SEO Fusion who became famous through the V7ndotcom Elursrebmem SEO Contest has been receiving tons of comments spam on his blog. All from all sorts of people all named Isulong SEOPh. LOL. Instead of fending everyone off, he gave a free page Isulong SEOPh page for the contestants!
On the other side of the story… Aaron Wall, author of the best selling SEO reference book, the SEOBook was also receiving probably the same amount of comments spam on his blog. We did get their attention. But I think they are not that happy about it.
Comment spam does not work. And most blogs plug in the attribute rel=”nofollow” in the anchor/link tags so linking back through comment spam will do no help in SEO especially for Google.
